? Gitartha: Though you are very famous in the world of blogging still most of the people in social media don't know about you properly. Will you be kind enough to introduce yourself? Can you please paste the link of your blog here so that the general people can also go through your write-ups? 

✓Puspanjalee: To be honest, I use social media for simply my personal use. I am an introvert person and I generally keep my thoughts to myself. Maybe that’s why people may not know me but I am ok with it.

I started blogging in 2011 when I was an assistant professor of Geography. It was started as a time pass but gradually I realized that blogging could bring money too. I left my job in 2012 and concentrated fully on learning blogging and its many aspects.

I started my professional blogging in 2013 and since then, I have been blogging every day. I have been recognised by Google as one of the best content creators on the web in 2015, got listed in top 50 mompreneur blogs in the world by Feed post in 2016, got Indian Blogger Awards by Indiblogger in 2017. I was recognised by YourStory as a force that helps Indian women to make money blogging in 2019. My blogs are listed among Indian Top Blogs since 2017 regularly.

In 2020, my blogging career took a turn when I shut down my old blog mywritingmyworld.com and rebranded it as www.puspanjalee.com.

Apart from blogging, I have authored 3 books on Geography which are read by thousands of Geography students under Guwahati University since 2012 (the 4th textbook is due this year). I also have a cookbook and a book on SEO available on Amazon Kindle and other 2 books which are in pipeline.

I also have online workshops, e-courses and offer 1-1 blogging consultancy under my digital venture.

? Gitartha: Well, what is blogging for you? Your passion or profession? Can a general person dream to earn through writing blog?

✓ Puspanjalee: For me, blogging is a platform that emphasizes my skills. I love to blog and learn about it constantly. So, I combined my skill as a teacher with my knowledge and moulded it to a profession.

To answer, whether it is my passion or profession, well it's my profession and I am passionate about it.

Anyone can earn from blogging. I have proved that people can earn through writing. All it needs is dedication, hard work and consistency.

? Gitartha: Is it mandatory to write a blog post in English? Is it possible for a person to write the blog post in Assamese and to earn money?

✓ Puspanjalee: It’s not mandatory. Anyone can write in any language and earn through blogging. In fact, the golden days of regional language blogging have just started. If someone writes in Assamese and be consistent and hardworking, they certainly can earn through it.

? Gitartha: What are the conditions for a blog to get AdSense approval?

✓ Puspanjalee: You should check the official website of AdSense for their conditions. I do not do AdSense and I have no intention to display adds on my blog till now. I found AdSense’s income is meagre and if I put that energy in something else, I can earn better.

? Gitartha: What kind of post are suitable for a blog?

✓ Puspanjalee: See, blogs were created to share information. This is also how search engines work. Everyone uses Google to seek answers or to find a solution to the problem. I have found that instead of sharing random write-ups when I share tutorials, guides and posts that can help someone with something, they do better.

For example, I write about how to make money out of writing and blogging. So, when I write how to use a Facebook page as a writer, it brings me good traffic and earning.

? Gitartha: Will you suggest any ways to get traffic for a blog?

✓ Puspanjalee: I use SEO aka Search Engine Optimisation for my blog. It means that I optimise my writing in such a way that can help people find my blog from Google search results. I have been practising SEO for the last 8 years and learnt a trick or two. It brings 60% of overall traffic to my blog.

I also promote on social media. I use my personal Facebook profile, my Facebook pages, Twitter and Pinterest to promote my posts. Pinterest is another great source to bring traffic.

But for any new blogger, I would suggest that they use social media and SEO both to bring traffic. SEO needs time, so, social media is essential in bringing the traffic during the dry spell. But for the long run, a new blogger must understand how SEO works and apply it to their blog.

? Gitartha: While writing a new blog we generally take the help of some pre-existing blogs on that particular topic. Do you believe that giving appropriate citation of the pre-existing blog is very necessary? Have any experienced plagiarism of your blog by others?

✓ Puspanjalee: Yes. Linking to a blog and giving citation is an integral part of SEO and building relationship with other bloggers.

I have actually lost the count of cases when my content was plagiarized. It used to hurt but now I don’t give attention to it. I just concentrate on creating better content creating my own space.

? Gitartha: What are the keys to be a successful blogger?

✓ Puspanjalee: Success is a relative term in the blogging world. You can earn thousands of dollars but no one may remember you fondly within the blogging community. Or your blog can have thousands of admirers but still not making any money.

As I have mentioned, blogs were created to share information. I use my blog to share my knowledge and help new bloggers to make money. 95% of the content I create is available for free on my blog and YouTube channel. I have realised that the more you help, the more you get in return.

So, to be a successful blogger, you need to be dedicated to your blog’s focus, hardworking and willing to share information for free.

? Gitartha: Any suggestions for the budding bloggers like me?

✓ Puspanjalee: The only important thing when you start blogging is to learn SEO. Social media will bring fame, but the real recognition and money are in organic traffic from the search engines. You must have a clear focus of what you want to with your blog and learn SEO accordingly.

Concentrate on one social media at first and start using it to promote your blog. Promotion is also essential to have a popular and successful blog.
